Top Ten Resolutions

A big part of New Years Eve is the countdown to the New Year with Dick Clark, and Ryan Seacrest in New York’s Times Square. I know that is a part of New Years that I enjoy. It is the anticipation of a new start coming to a final celebration. It always give me goose bumps. I have many great memories from different New Year’s Eve’s shared with friends and family. So let’s start with number 10.

Number 10: Get Organized – whether it is organizing your house, your workspace, or time management. Many people find that there isn’t enough time in the day, and with proper time management you can fit more in your day, not feel rushed, and get more done.

Number 9: Help Others – Whether it is giving more to charity, or volunteering your time and resources, this is a great resolution. There are many people and organizations that are looking for a helping hand. Finding a cause that is right for you isn’t difficult. Continue reading

Define your Ideal Average Day

New Year's Eve

Dick Clark & Ryan Seacrest

When you are planning this year’s New Years’ Resolutions, you are really trying to accomplish a goal in a specific part of your life that is going to make you happier. What I encourage you to do, is to define what your Ideal Average Day would look like in all aspects of your life.

This is an exercise that I learned from Brian Swan of the Unstoppable Family. Brian and his family have spent the last 3 years travelling the world, and spending their time doing what they want – namely surfing and exploring. At the same time they are making a great income from an internet based home business that they can accomplish anywhere in the world.

Keep an Open Mind when you are doing this exercise, because it may seem like alot of work, but it will definitely help to open your mind to the possibilities that exist for you in the year ahead.

We are going to cover things like Wealth, Health, and also cover your Support Network. You also have to determine what the consequences are of having your ideal average day. What are you giving up? Continue reading

New Years Resolution time again

New Year Clock

Clock Striking Midnight

Right now we are in early December, but the time is flying fast, and before you know it, the New Year will be upon us.

You know what that means, it’s time to take up your New Years Resolutions. A New Years Resolution, is a promise to yourself that you are going to change something significant in your life in 2012.

Usually the resolution is one that will make you feel good about yourself, because you will be accomplishing something that will change your life. It could be to make more money, or to spend more time with family and friends, or to drink less and party less, or to volunteer your time to a charity or cause that means alot to you. It could be to travel more.

Why do people make Resolutions at New Years?

The start of a new year is usually a time for resetting for people. It is a time to reset the calendar. A time to reset the year at work and at school. People have a new perspective on January 1, because depending on how the prior year went, they can be excited because they accomplished many of the goals they set out for themselves the year before, or like many people, they are a little sad, because another year has passed and things didn’t get better. But when January 1 comes around, you get a clean slate to accomplish the goals that you set for yourself :) Continue reading
