When you are planning this year’s New Years’ Resolutions, you are really trying to accomplish a goal in a specific part of your life that is going to make you happier. What I encourage you to do, is to define what your Ideal Average Day would look like in all aspects of your life.
This is an exercise that I learned from Brian Swan of the Unstoppable Family. Brian and his family have spent the last 3 years travelling the world, and spending their time doing what they want – namely surfing and exploring. At the same time they are making a great income from an internet based home business that they can accomplish anywhere in the world.
Keep an Open Mind when you are doing this exercise, because it may seem like alot of work, but it will definitely help to open your mind to the possibilities that exist for you in the year ahead.
We are going to cover things like Wealth, Health, and also cover your Support Network. You also have to determine what the consequences are of having your ideal average day. What are you giving up?
So let’s get started. Take out a piece of paper and answer the follwing questions. Don’t just thingk about the answers. Actually write out your answers on a piece of paper.
- Where would you live?
- Would you live near the ocean or in the mountains?
- What does your house look like? How many rooms are there? What are the views like? What amenities are there?
- What time would you wake up in the morning?
- What would you do after you woke up?
- What would you do for breakfast?
- How would you spend the first half of your day? What activities would you do?
- Who would you be eating your breakfast with?
- What would your friends be like?
- What would you talk with your friends about?
- What would you do for personal fulfillment?
- What would you read?
- What life purpose would you strive for?
- What would your business be?
- What hours would you work? hint: when you want to vs. when you have to
- Who are your business clients?
- Who do you work with? Who are your partners?
